Years at PBE: This is my first year as a Falcon! I am also serving as the NBSD Director of Special Services and Coordinator of Teaching and Learning.

Years in Education: Over 20 years in education, serving in a variety of teaching and leadership roles including 5th grade teacher, Instructional Coach, and Interim Assistant Principal. I hold a National Board Certification in Middle Childhood General Teaching. I have a bachelors in Education, two Masters degrees in Literacy and Educational Leadership, and I am working on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Superintendent Certification through Washington State University.

About Me: I’m passionate about creating a positive, inclusive school community where every student feels seen, supported, and capable of success. Outside of school, my husband Russ and I enjoy exploring the outdoors, traveling, watching baseball, and spending time with our grow-up children Emma (24) and Joey (21), and our cat Taco. I also love organizing and finding creative ways to make spaces efficient, welcoming, and fun — whether that’s in the classroom, my office, or my RV!

Favorite Quote: "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."        — Benjamin Franklin

Why I Love Working at PBE: Pacific Beach Elementary is more than a school — it’s a family. I love the strong sense of community here and the dedication of our staff to every student’s growth and well-being. Watching our students grow in confidence, kindness, and curiosity makes this work deeply rewarding every single day.
